Answer:

Question :-

Find the value of k, if x = 3, y = 2 , is a solution of the equation 2x + ky = 20

Required Answer :-

k = 7

Solution :-

Given :-

x = 3

y = 2

To Find :-

The value of k

Substituting the values of x and y in the equation :-

2x + ky = 20

2 \times 3 + k \times 2 = 20

  6 + 2k = 20

  2k = 20 - 6

2k = 14

k =  \frac{14}{2}

k =   \frac{1 \cancel4}{ \cancel2}

k = 7

We get the value of k as 7

Verification :-

Now let's verify our answer by substituting 7 in place of k

2x + ky = 20

2 \times 3 + 7 \times 2 = 20

6 + 14 = 20

20 = 20

LHS = RHS

Hence verified
