SOLUTION

Given,

x+4 is a factor

x+4= 0

=) x= -4

Now, putting this value in equation

=)x^2 +3x +m

=)(-4)^2 +3(-4) +m=0

=) 16+ (-12)+m=0

=) 16-12+ m=0

=) 4+m=0

=) m= -4

hope it helps ☺️

Answer:

ANSWER IS m=-4

Step-by-step explanation:

Here p(x)=x^2+3x+m

And

if x+4 is the factor of p(x)

so p(-4)=0

p(-4) = (-4)^2+3 (-4)+m

= 16 - 12 + m

= 4 + m

now put 4+m=0

4+m=0

m = 0-4

m = -4

So, answer is- 4
