Answer:

The value of m is 21.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The points (3,5), (m,6) & (1/2,15/2)

To find : Find the value of m in which the points are collinear.

Solution :

When points are collinear the area is zero.

Area is

A=\frac{1}{2}|3(6-\frac{15}{2})+m(\frac{15}{2}-5)+3(5-m)|=0

\frac{1}{2}|3(-1.5)+m(2.5)+3(5-m)|=0

\frac{1}{2}|-4.5+2.5m+15-3m|=0

|10.5-0.5m|=0

0.5m=10.5

m=\frac{10.5}{0.5}

m=21

Therefore, The value of m is 21.
