5mx² - 6mx + 9 = 0

b² - 4ac = 0

⇒ (-6m)² - 4(5m)(9) = 0

⇒ 36m(m - 5) = 0

⇒ m = 0, 5 ;

rejecting m=0, we get m = 5

Answer:

this equation mx(5x-6) = 0 can not have two equal roots for any value of m

Step-by-step explanation:

one root of this quadratic equation is

5x - 6 = 0 \\ x =  \frac{6}{5}

other root of this equation is

mx = 0 \\ x = 0

two roots are 6/5 and 0
