GIVEN :-

p - q = 7 equation.1

pq = 9 equation.2

TO FIND :-

p^2 + q^2 = ?

SOLUTION :-

(p-q)^2 = p^2 + q^2- 2pq

p^2+q^2 = (p-q)^2+2pq

From equations 1 & 2 .we get

p^2+q^2 = (7)^2+2(9)

p^2+q^2 = 49+18

p^2+q^2 = 67

FORMULAS AND RULES :-

We know

(a+b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab

(a-b)^2 = a^2 +b^2-2ab

By using this formulas we get easy to find values like above question.
