Answer:

x²+px−9=(x−1)(x+q)

x²+ px - 9 = x² + qx - x - qx

Now comparing coefficient of both equations.

p = q - 1 ---- equation (i)

q = -9

Now put value of q in equation (i)

p = -9 - 1

p = -10

Hence p = -10 and q = -9
