Answer:

Probability of E + Probability of not E is always 1.

So, P ( E ) + P ( not E ) = 1.

  • Probability of a sure event is 1.
  • Probability of an event that isn't sure is between 0 and 1.
  • Probability of the event that is impossible is 0.

If there is a chance of probability of E to be 1, obviously the chance of probability of not E will be 0, totalling the value of the equation as 1.

( P of E + P of not E = 1 )

If the probability of the event lies between 0 and 1 as per the rule, the other one should also like between 0 and 1, and as per the rule if both the probabilities are added it will be equal to 1.

So, P of E1 + P of E2 = 1.

Now, P of E2 = P of not E1.

So, P of E + P of not E = 1
