Find the value of p, for which one root of the quadratic equation px2-14x+8=0 is 6 times the other.

let one root be a, then other root will be 6a
 sum of the roots = a+6a=-b/a=-(-14/p)
=>7a=14/p
=>a=2/p................. or ap=2.........1
product of the root is  c/a=8/p=6a^2
=>6*a*a*p=8
=>12a=8
a=8/12=2/3   
putting the value of a in eqn 1
ap=2
2/3 * p=2
p=3 ans
