Find the value of p for which one root of the quadratic equation px^2-14xplus 8 equal to 0 is 6 times the other

Here is your answer,


Let the first root be α.
then second root will be 6​α.
Sum of roots = −ba
α+6α= −(14)p=14p
7α=14p
α=2p

Product of roots=ca
α×6α=8p
6α2=8p
6(2p)2=8p
p=3x
