Find the value of p, if (-2)^p+1*(-2)^p=-8

GIVEN THAT :-

 {( - 2)}^{p + 1}  \times  {( - 2)}^{p}  =  - 8

WE KNOW THAT -

 {a}^{n}  \times  {a}^{m}  =  {a}^{m + n}

SO,

 {( - 2)}^{2p + 1}  =  - 8

WE SHOULD WRITE THIS AS -

 {( - 2)}^{2p + 1}  =  {( - 2)}^{3}

COMPARE -

=

2p + 1 = 3

=

p =1
