find the value of p if one of the root is 2 of the equation equals to x square - p x + 2 equals 2=0 ​

if 2 is the root of the equation x^2-px+2 than it means that i we put the value of x as 2 than the resultant expression must be equal to zero. so as per question,

f(x)= x^2-px+2

f(2)= 2^2-2p+2

4+2-2p=0

6-2p=0

-2p= -6

p= -6÷ -2

p=3

so the value of p is 3. now we can justify this answer by putting the value of p as 3 and than taking out the roots of the equation. if one of the roots comes out to be 2 than it means that the answer is correct.
