If an Ap has 3 consecutive terms a,b,c then 2b=a+c.

Here a=x , b=2x+p , c= 3x+6.

2 ( 2x+p ) = x+3x+6

4x + 2p = 4x+6

2(2x + p) = 2(2x+3)

Cancelling 2 on both sides,

2x + p = 2x+3

p = 2x-2x+3

p = 3
