x-p is a factor of the given polynomial,

x-p = 0

x = p

Put x = p in given polynomial,

x^6 - px^5 + x⁴ - px³ + 3x - p + 2 = 0

→ p^6 - p(p)^5 + p⁴ - p(p)³+ 3p - p + 2 = 0

→ p^6 - p^6 + p⁴ - p⁴ + 2p + 2 = 0

→ 2p+2 = 0

→ 2p = -2

→ p = -2/2

→ p = -1

Therefore,the value of p is -1
