Answer:

p = 16

Step-by-step explanation:

let f(x) = x²-10x+p

given that f(x) is divisible by (x-2)

ie., (x-2) is a factor of f(x)

Factor therem : The factor theorem states that a polynomial f ( x )  has a factor ( x − k ) , if and only if f ( k ) = 0

=> f(2) = 0   (by factor theorem )

=> 2²-10(2)+p = 0

=> 4-20+p = 0

=> p-16 = 0

=> p = 16
