Given :  linear equation 6x – Py = 2 has equal values of x and y. (x ≠ 0)

To Find :  the value of P

Solution:

6x – Py = 2

x = y

6x - Px  = 2

=> x ( 6 - P)  = 2

=> 6 - P  = 2/x

=> P  = 6  -  2/x

Hence Value of P is dependent upon  x

if we take x =  1 then P  =  4

if we take x  = 2  then P  = 5

and so on     if we take x = 1/2  then P  = 2

Hence Value of  P is not fixed

and there is no such value of P for which x = y is always satisfied
