P (x) = 5x³ – 3x² + 7x – 5

P ( – 1 ) = 5 ( – 1 )³ – 3 ( – 1 )² + 7 ( – 1 ) – 5

= 5 ( – 1 ) – 3 ( 1 ) – 7 – 5

= – 5 – 3 – 12

= – 8 – 12

P ( – 1 ) = – 20
