Find the value of polynomial “–3x^4 + 2x^3 – 2x^2 + 4x – 1” at x = 1, –1​

Answer:

1) when x is 1=

-3 (1)^4+2 (1)^3-2 (1)^2+4 (1)-1

-3 (1)+2 (1)-2 (1)+4 (1)-1

-3+2-2+4-1

-6+6 (here '-' values are added and '+' values are added)

=0

2)when x is -1=

-3 (-1)^4+2 (-1)^3-2 (-1)^2+4 (-1)-1

-3 (1)+2 (-3)-2 (1)+4 (1) (here if the power numeber is even the minus value will become plus. and if it is odd the minus value will remain same)

-3+2+(-6)-2+4

-11+6=5
