Mark AB=BC=CA= a

and altitude AD = (root3)*a/2(formulae for the lenght of the altitude)

Now In triangle ABD

SinB = perpendicular/hypotenuse

Sin60(as all angles of a equilateral triangle are 60) = AD/AB

Sin60 =  Root3*a/2 % a

sin60 = root3/2
