• 5œx +30œy = 70
• = 5 × 1 × 1 + 30 × 1 × 1
• = 5 + 30
• = 35
• 35 is wrong so we use œ as a 2
• 5œx + 30œx = 70
• = 5 × 2 × 1 + 30 × 2 × 1
• = 10 + 60
• = 70
• So, œ= 2
