Find the value of
p(x) =  {3 \times }^{2} + x + 7 \: when \: x =  - 2

so

p(x) =  {3x}^{2}  + x + 7 \\  \\  =  > p(x) = 3 (- 2) ^{2}  + ( - 2) + 7 \\  \\  =  > p(x) = 3 \times 4 - 2 + 7 \\  \\  =  > p(x) = 12 - 2 + 7 \\  \\  =  > p(x) = 10 + 7 \\  \\  =  > p(x) = 17

3 {x}^{2}  + x + 7

3 {( - 2)}^{2}  + ( - 2) + 7

3(4) - 2 + 7

12 + 5

 = 17
