Find the value of the expression substituting the given value of the unknown.
a) x+6, if x=24
b) (p+q)-(p-q), if p=8 and q=4

Given, 3(x+6)=24

3x+18=24

Subtract 18 from both sides,

3x+18−18=24−18

⇒3x=6

Divide 3 on both the sides,

3/3x = 3/6

⇒x=2
