GIVEN :

Determinant (D) = ad-bc

a= -1, b= 7 , c= 2 , d= 4  

D = (-1 × 4 ) - (7 × 2)

D = - 4 - 14 = -18

D = -18

Hence, the value of Determinant (D) is -18.
