Find the value of the following expressions for a = (- 2) and b = 3
(i) 3a – 2b (ii) a2
+ 3a +2

a = (-2) , b = 3

1. 3a - 2b = 3(-2) - 2(3)

= -6 - 6

= -12

2. a2 + 3a + 2 = (-2) 2 + 3 (-2) + 2

= -4 + (-6) + 2

= -4 - 6 + 2

= -10 + 2

= -8

Answer:

i)3a-2b

ATQ=a=(-2) and b=3

=> 3(-2)- 2×3

=>(-6)-6

=>6+6

=>0 Ans.

ii)A2+3a+2

ATQ=a=(-2) and b=3

=>-3×2+3×(-2)+2

=>-6+(-6)+2

=>12 Ans
