3 {x}^{2}  + 2x - 1 \\  putting \: x = 0 \\  = 3 \times  {0}^{2}  + 2 \times 0 - 1 \\  = 3 \times 0 + 0 - 1 \\  = 0 + 0 - 1 \\   =  - 1 \\ now \: putting \:  x =  - 1 \\  3 {x }^{2}  + 2x - 1 \\  = 3 \times  { (- 1)}^{2}  + 2 \times ( - 1) - 1 \\  = 3 \times 1 + ( - 2) - 1 \\  = 3 - 2 - 1 \\  = 1 - 1 \\  = 0
