Find the value of the polynomial 5 – 4ଶ + 3 at

(i) x = 0
(ii) x = – 1

(iii) x = 2

p(x)=5-4x+3.

x=0.

p(0)=5-4(0)+3.

=5-0+3.

=5+3.

=8.

x=-1.

p(-1)=5-4(-1)+3.

=5+4+3. (Because -×-=+).

=12.

x=2.

p(2)=5-4(2)+3.

=5-8+3.

=-3+3. (Because +×-=- & largest number is important).

=0. (Because -×+=- & -3+3 will cancel i.e., it will be zero(0)).
