f(x) =x²+x-2

since,x-1=0

x=1

and, x+1=0

x=-1

putting these values of x in the above polynomial

CASE :1

f(1)=1²+1-2

=1+1-2

=0

CASE:2

f(-1)=-1²+(-1)-2

=1-1-2

=-2

Answer: 0and -2

Step-by-step explanation:f(x) = x^2 + x-2

In (i) case x-1=0

x=1

now, f(1)= (1)^2 + 1 -2

= 1-1

=0

in (ii) case x+1=0

x= -1

now , f(-1) = (-1)^2 -1-2

= 1 -1 -2

-2
