find the value of the polynomial p(x) = y²-5y+6 at y=½​

answer is 15/4

p(x) = y²-5y+6

if p(1/2)=1/2 whole square -5×1/2+6

=1/4-5/2+6/1

=2-20/8+6/1

=-18/8+6/1

=-18+48/8

=30/8

=15/4 hence proved
