using commutative property

A + B = B + A

a) x + ( -3) + -3 + 7 , so x = 7

2 2 8 8

b) (_3 ) + (-7 ) = x + (-3) , so x = -7

4 8 4 8

using associative property

(A +B ) + C = A + ( B + C )

c) ( 4 + x) + 9 == 4 + ( 3+ 9), so, x = 3

7 11 7 8 11 8

so all statements are true
