\large\sf\underline{Given\::}

  • \sf\:16:8=x:5

\large\sf\underline{To\:find\::}

  • Value of x = ??

\large\sf\underline{Solution\::}

\sf\:16:8=x:5

‎ ‎

  • Writing in fraction form

\sf\implies\:\frac{16}{8}=\frac{x}{5}

‎ ‎

  • Cross multiplying

\sf\implies\:8x=16 \times 5

\sf\implies\:8x=80

  • Transposing 8 to the other side

Since ' {\sf{{\pink{x}}}} ' sign remains between 8 and x, when we transpose 8 to other side it changes to ' {\sf{{\purple{÷}}}} ' .

\sf\implies\:x=\frac{80}{8}

\sf\implies\:x=\cancel{\frac{80}{8}}

\large{\mathfrak\red{\implies\:x=10}}

!! Hope it helps !!
