Answer:

  • The value of x + 1/x is 23.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

  • x + 1/x = 5

To Find,

  • The value of x² + 1/x².

Solution,

 :  \implies \tt x +  \frac{1}{x}  = 5  \\

Squaring Both Sides,

 :  \implies \tt x +  \frac{1}{x}  = 5  \\  \\ :  \implies \tt  {( {x} +  \frac{1}{x} ) }^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  \\

Identity 1 : (a + b)² = + 2ab +

:  \implies \tt  {(x +  \frac{1}{x}) }^{2}  = 25 \\  \\ :  \implies \tt  {x}^{2}  + 2(x)( \frac{1}{x} ) +  {( \frac{1}{x} )}^{2}  = 25 \\  \\ :  \implies \tt  {x}^{2}  + 2 +  \frac{1}{x ^{2} }  = 25 \\  \\ :  \implies   \color{red}\boxed{\tt  {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 23}

Required Answer,

  • The value of x + 1/x is 23.
