the value will be 1
(x-1/x)^2-2=x^+1/x^2
1 = x^2+1/x^2
(x-1/x)^2-2=x^+1/x^2
1 = x^2+1/x^2

make square of x-1/x you will get x^2+1/x^2 -2 when you add 2
you will get x^2 + 1/x^2
(x-1/x)^2 +2 = x^2 +1/x^2
(root 3)^2 +2 =5
