Question :

find the value of X: 2/7x + 3 - x = 15

Solution :

 \sf \small \longmapsto \frac{2}{7} x + 3 - x = 15

We have to arrange the terms on the L.H.S. of the equation

 \sf  \small \longmapsto \frac{2}{7}x - x + 3 = 15

Transposing 3 on the right hand side we get

 \sf \small  \longmapsto \frac{2 x- 7x}{7} = 15 - 3

 \sf \small \longmapsto -  \frac{5x}{7} = 12

By cross multiplication we find

 \sf \small \longmapsto - 5x = 12 \times 7

 \sf \small \longmapsto - 5x = 84

 \sf \small \longmapsto x =   - \frac{84}{5}

 \sf \small \dashrightarrow x =  - 16.80

So the value is -16.80
