$⟹5(x-4)-7(x+4)=5(x+3)$

$⟹5x-20-7x-28=5x+15$

$⟹5x-7x-20-28=5x+15$

$⟹-2x-48=5x+15$

$⟹-2x-5x=15+48$

$⟹-7x=63$

$⟹x=63/-7$

$⟹x=-9$

Thus, the value of x = -9
