To find : the value of $x$

Given : $\frac{2x + 1}{x + 2} = \frac{4}{5}$

Solution :  

• To find the value of $x$ we cross multiply both the denominators of RHS and LHS.

            $5 ( 2x+ 1) = 4 ( x + 2)$

• Now , multiplying terms of LHS and RHS simultaneously.

              $10x + 5 = 4x + 8 \\10x - 4x = 8 - 5\\6x = 3 \\x = \frac{1}{2}$

Hence , value of $x$ is $\frac{1}{2}$ .
