Hi. For the lines to be parallel, the corresponding angles must be equal. Then, in this case,

3x - 5 = 4x

⇒ 3x - 4x = 5

⇒ -x = 5

⇒ x = -5

Verification:

Put x = -5 in 3x - 5 = 4x

3(-5) - 5 = 4(-5)

⇒ -15 - 5 = -20

⇒ -20 = -20

⇒ 20 = 20

⇒ L.H.S. = R.H.S.

Hence, verified.

Thus, For the lines to be parallel, the value of x must be -5. Hope it helps!
