Answer:

In ∆ ABC & ∆ ABD

AB= AB {Common}{Base}

AD = AD = 37 cm {Hypotenuse}

angle ABC = angle ABD = 90° {Right Angle}

Hence ∆ ABC is congruent to ∆ ABD by RHS criteria.

Hence AB cuts line x in two equal parts

=> CB = BD = x/2

By Pythagoras theorem:

 {b}^{2}  =  {h}^{2}  -  {p}^{2}

( { \frac{x}{2} })^{2}  =  {37}^{2}  - {12}^{2}

 {( \frac{x}{2}) }^{2}  = 1369 - 144

 ({ \frac{x}{2} })^{2}  = 1225

 \frac{x}{2}  =  \sqrt{1225}

 \frac{x}{2}  = 35

x = 70 cm

So, x = 70 cm

Hope this helps you
