See there is a figure that show weather it is triangle or parallelogram , and the line which strike it is a translucent.

Now, the upper exterior angle is given = 118° ; So , we find out the adjacent angle of it = 180° - 118° = 62 ° ( Linear pair )

Then, we find the x.

As we now that, the opposite angle of parallelogram is equal ( 62 ° = 62° )

and the alternate interior angle of the parallelogram is also same.

So, x + 22° = 62°

x = 62° - 22°

x = 40°

Now , we have to find y.

We also know that opposite Angles of parallelogram is equal ( 118° = 118°)

So, we consider that the angle between 62 degree and y be y.

So, y + y = 118°

2y = 118°

y = 118° / 2

y = 59 °
