Answer:

Given,

14x+21y-119=0

or, 2x+3y-17=0.........(1) [Divided by 7]

and

27x-18y-54=0

or, 3x-2y-6=0.........(2) [Divided by 9]

Now multiplying (1) by 2 and (2) by 3 then adding we get

4x+6y-34=0

9x-6y-18=0

13x-52=0

or, 13x=52

or, x=4

now putting the value of x in (1) we get

2.4+3y-17=0

or, 8+3y=17

or, 3y=17-8

or, 3y=9

or, y=3

so the value of x is 4 and the value of y is 3.

Answer:

The value of x and y are 4 and 3 respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

14x+21y=119.....(i)

27x-18y=54......(ii)

Multiplying equations (i) by 18 and (ii) by 21 and adding the equation (i) and (ii); we get: 252x+378y=2142

567x-378y=1134

819x =3276

or, x = 4

Put x=4 in equation (ii); we get:

27×4-18×y=54

or, 18y=54

or, y=3

Hence, x=4; y=3.
