Answer:

value of X----

80° + x = 180°. ( by linear pair )

x = 180° - 80°

x = 100°

value of Y----

y + 80° = 120°. ( by exterior angle rules )

y = 120° - 80°

y = 40°

\bf\underline{\underline{\blue{SOLUTION:-}}}

Answer

  • Value of x = 100°
  • Value of y= 40°

Given

  • ∠BAC =80°
  • ∠ACY = 120°

To Calculate

  • Value of x and y

Explanation

  • ∠BAC =80° ( Given)
  • ∠ACY = 120° ( Given)

ZAC is a straight line

∠ZAB+∠BAC = 180° ( L.P)

= x +80° = 180

= x= 180-80

= x= 100°

BCY is a straight line

∠BCA +∠ACY = 180°

= ∠BCA +120° = 180°

= ∠BCA = 180-120°

= BCA = 60°

We know that,

Sum of all angles of a triangle = 180°

= 80° + 60° + y = 180

= 140° + y = 180°

= y = 180-140

= y= 40°

\bf\underline{\underline{\blue{HENCE:-}}}

  • Value of x = 100°
  • Value of y = 40°
