find the value of x and y 2X+3y=2 and x-2y=8​

Answer:

2x + 3y = 2 and x - 2y = 8

2x + 3y = 2 (1)

x - 2y = 8 (2)

multiplying (1) by 2 and (2) by 3

4x + 6y = 4

3x — 6y = 24

7x = 28

x = 28/7

x = 4

putting x value in eqution (2)

x — 2y = 8

(4) — 2y = 8

4 — 2y = 8

— 2y = 8 — 4

— 2y = 4

y = 4/-2

y = —2

Hence x = 4 and y = 2
