a) we can see that 130° and y are supplementary

so

130° + y = 180°

y = 180° - 130° = 50°

exterior angle of a triangle = sum of its opposite interior angles

so 70° + x = 130°

x = 130° - 70° = 60°

b) according to angle sum property, sum of interior angles of a triangle = 180°

in ΔACD

50° + 85° + y = 180°

135° + y = 180°

y = 180° - 135° = 45°

in ΔABC

50° + (y + 40°) + x = 180°

50 + (45° + 40°) + x = 180°

50 + 85° + x = 180°

135° + x = 180°

x = 180° - 135° = 45°

c) as we can see, 70° and y are supplementary

so 70° + y = 180°

y = 180° - 70° = 110°

exterior angle of a triangle = sum of its opposite interior angles

30° + x = 70°

x = 70° - 30° = 40°
