i.)  Angle y is opposite to an 80° angle. Opposite angles measure the same.

    ∴y=80°

    (Angle sum property states the sum of the interior angles of  triangle is 180°)

∠y+m∠50°=?

m∠80°+m∠50°=130°

180°-130°=x  (as x is the third angle)

  ∴x=50°

ii.) (Angle sum property)

180°-(m∠50°+m∠60°)

180°-130°=50°

  ∴y=50°

x and y form a linear pair, thus,

180°-y (50°)=130°

   ∴x=130°
