3x+4y = 2 ...(1)
x-2y = 4 ...(2)

(1) => 3x+4y = 2
(2)Γ—2 => 2x-4y = 8

on adding both equation we get,

5x = 10
x = 10/5
x = 2

substituting the value of x in (1)

3x+4y = 2
3(2)+4y = 2
6+4y = 2
4y = 2-6
4y = -4
y = -4/4
y = -1

x = 2
y = -1
