(x -3, -6) = (4, x + y)

⇒ x - 3 = 4

⇒ -6 = x + y

Find x:

x - 3 = 4

x = 4 + 3

x = 7

Find y:

-6 = x + y

We  had found x = 7 earlier

-6 = 7 + y

y = -6 - 7

y = -13

Answer: x = 7 and y = -13
