To Find :

• ∠x and ∠y

Solution :

∠1 = 38°

AB is parallel to  ED and line F is the transversal

∠1 = 38°

So,

∴ ∠x = 38°       [Corresponding angles are equal]

Now we know ∠x = 38°  therefore ∠y :-

∠x + ∠y = 180

⇒ 38 + ∠y = 180    [Linear pair axiom]

⇒ ∠y = 180 - 38

∴ ∠y = 142°

Hence,∠x = 38° and ∠y = 142°
