Answer:

∆ADB = 40°+90°+x°= 180°

= 180 - 130 = 50°

∆ADC= 45°+90°+y°= 180°

= 180 - 135 = 45°

In ∆ ADB

∠ A = 40°

∠ B = x°

∠ D = 90°

Now,

∠ A + ∠ B + ∠ D = 180° ( Angle sum property of triangle)

40° + x° + 90° = 180°

130° + x° = 180°

x° = 180° - 130°

x° = 50°

Similarly, In ∆ BDC

y° = 45°
