Let's firstly find the value of y.

∠B + ∠C = ∠A [An exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the two opposite interior angles.]

⇒ 38° + y = 115°

⇒ y = 115° - 38°

⇒ y = 77°

Now we find the value of x.

∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180° [Angle sum property of triangle.]

⇒ x + 38° + y = 180°

⇒ x + 38° + 77° = 180°

⇒ x = 180° - 115°

⇒ x = 65°

∴ x = 65°

∴ y = 77°

¤ x = 65 and y = 77

To find :-

• The value of x and y.

Given:-

• ABC= 38° and one exterior angle is 115°

Solution:-

• Here,

115+x= 180 ( linear pair)

=>x=180-115

=>x=65

• Therefore, x = 65

• Now ,in triangle ABC

BAC+ABC+BCA=180°

=>X+38+Y =180

=>65+38+Y=180

=>y = 180 - 103

=> y= 77

• Therefore, y =77

Hence:-

• The value of x is 65 and y is 77.

hope it helps.... :)
