taking second eq and multiply by 3
we get 2+6y=18
6y=18-2
y=16/6
y=8/3
putting y in first eq
x + 6( \frac{8}{3} ) = 12 \\ x + 16 = 12 \\ x =  - 4

First solve secand one-
2y=6-2/3=16/3
So
Y=8/3 now, from first equation
x+6*8/3=12
X=12-48/3= - 12/3=-4
So,
X=-4 & y=8/3
