2x - ( 4 - x ) = 5 - x

2x - 4 + x = 5 - x

3x - 4 = 5 - x

3x + x = 5 + 4

4x = 9

Answer:

2x-(4-x)=5-x

2x-4+x=5-x

3x-4=5-x

Using transposition:-

3x+x=5+4

4x=9

x=9/4.
