Find the value of x for triangle 1 & 2.

ANSWER :

In first triangle we use midpoint theorem,

ie the two unknown sides are parallel and one is double of the other

So, 3x - 1 = 2(x+3)

3x - 1 = 2x + 6

x = 7

In second triangle we use converse of midpoint theorem so the two unknown sides are equal,

x - 4 = 2x - 13

x = 9
